Tết Đến Rồi: CMR Lunar New Year Celebrations

Writer's picture: CMR SisterCMR Sister

This year, Lunar New Year or Tết in Vietnamese, began on January 25, 2020, celebrating the year of the Rat and the arrival of Spring (per the lunar calendar).  Tết is the most important holiday of the Vietnamese culture and is filled with visiting/calling family and friends, attending festivals, giving/receiving New Year's greetings and lucky money, and eating traditional foods. Especially for Vietnamese Catholics, Tết gives us an opportunity to give thanks to God for all the blessings received in the past year and to pray for a grace-filled new year! Every CMR community celebrated in their own unique way!  (Psst.. CMR Kansas City is missing because they went to March for Life in D.C. Check out Sr. Eileen's post here) A picture is a thousand words so check out the slideshow below.
